Chicken, Spinach And Cherry Tomato Pasta

Yes, finally back to blogging , but suffering from a severe cold and cough, so my mind is a bit fuzzy. So how was the holidays! Now its back to reality and the school runs and other daily activities!.

You know I noticed I say a lot of times," a handful or two "of something , well I never realized this until my hubby one day  brought it to my notice. He was out doing some grocery shopping and I asked him to bring a handful of chillies, He had taken out 9 year old little guy with him. He calls me up and goes , "whose hand am I to use, my hand size,  little guy or  yours (meaning me although my little guy's hands are almost my hand size now)??"

Smores Tart

Smores is  something I always read about in kids stories , it was until my little guy had this science project in grade 2,( I think it was in 2013) ,where he had to make something that was about alternate energy that I actually got to taste  a S'more.

Lentil Tart

Now this is something all three boys in the house ( third one being my hubby)  love!. And its an almost vegetarian dish! I say almost vegetarian as I added just  a little bit of dried tuna because it goes very nicely with this meaty flavoured brown lentils.   I found this recipe in and old Margret Fultan's book of Vegetarian Cooking. In the book its called a quiche but for me its more like a tart  so I renamed it tart LOL.  I adapted the filling to suite our taste but  and I love the cheesy pastry,.

Spagetti With Tuna Balls and Fresh Cherry Tomato Sauce

I  saw these tuna balls  recipe in, where  pasta was served with these tuna balls made with canned tuna. Of course as you know canned tuna is a pantry staple in my home so I just had to give it try. The boys and hubby loved it, I tried a couple of sauces along with it, but this one , made using fresh cherry tomatoes came out the winner and didn't mask the delicate tuna balls taste.

Chicken Sandwich

Yes I know , the photo doesn't really look very good, mainly because it was made for dinner and it was getting dark, so light wasn't so  good. One of those rushed days , where you want to just finish up and sit down for dinner. This is one of those recipes where that left over roast chicken gets ended up.

Marmite Pasta

"Mumma , Bappa ( father) wont be here tomorrow night for dinner, can you make Marmite pasta then?" asked my y little one very hopefully. As much as he ( or rather all three of us) hated his father and his numerous trips around the islands or the occasional trip abroad , one thing he has come to realise is that I make this particular pasta dish when hubby is  away. Hubby has just left for a 10 week  training abroad so as much as we are missing him, this particular pasta can only be made when he isn't at home for dinner. Why? He hates Marmite (LOL)!

Grilled Vegetable Submarine Sandwiches

I am trying to get the family to eat more vegetables and depend less on meat and fish. So I came up with meat and fish free night once a week at least.   I  wondered if I can make a vegetable sandwich but it all ended up too dry , and then I remembered the  bean filling I once made for a Quesadilla and how much the boys and hubby loved it, so I used that  to make spread and then pilled up grilled vegetables on top.

Pani Puri

Its that time of the month, its the 10th of the month and each month since beginning of this year the ladies of the Muslimah Food Blogger's group host a challenge. This month's challenge was to create a dish from one of our fellow blogger's blog something which we had booked earlier. For me this was a difficult task as I had collected and book marked and even pinned so many recipes that I had no idea which one to choose.  It was until Zareena from My Experiments with Food  posted  how to make Pani Puris. Believe it or not I have never had a Pani Puri.

Lemony Chicken and Rice Soup

Sorry haven;t been visiting  much, my little one was down with severe vomiting few weeks back and again this weekend he came down with fever.  So have been dealing with a very tired and  annoyed 6 year old, who keeps asking why he is getting sick so often.
