Spice Crusted Tuna Steaks With Hollandaise Sauce

Tuna is a well loved fish , let say its our main source of protein. When I was growing up we usually ate Skipjack tuna  which is a smaller tuna with blue or black lines  going on it. Now adays we get Yellow Fin tuna and I recently bought these fat  fillet of Yellowfin Tuna and  cut it into  steak pieces.  I prefer to cook it all the way through but not tough and chewy.

Lamb Biryani

Its Biryani challenge for this month at the Muslimah Bloggers group.  Everyone loves a good Biryani so when it was announced we had to cook a Biryani , I wanted to make something that was related to us. Biryani is a well loved dish at my home, I have eaten Biryani versions at  Sri lanka, Malaysia, Singapore  and of course the best ones at Karachi ,Pakistan.  But one of the first Biryanis I tasted was back home ,here in Male'.

Eggplant Rice Pilaf

Eggplants, Aubergine , Brinjals , whatever you may call them, I love  them.  I love their slightly meaty taste. I saw this eggplant pilaf once but I adapted it a bit so I can use  easily available ingredients.

Oats And Banana Pancakes with strawberry compote

Its raining strawberries, quite literally I have to say, the usually almost 110 Ruffiya strawberries is now down to 30.  (1 dollar is roughly 15 ruffiya) So you can imagine everyone is flocking to the market to get themselves a  punnet of strawberries.  Pancakes are also a big favorite in my home, but I usually make them during holidays or during the weekends.

Strawberry Yogurt Pops

I am so excited to day!!! Woke up to find that my interview to TheDailyMeal.com has been  uploaded and still cant believe it!! You can click here to take a look.
I  love these!!!  Its a great way to get some dairy product to kids who hate milk and  some fruit.  A friend of mine tried this and  agreed it was yummy, said it tastes like ice cream.   Ice pops are always a real treat for my boys and its something I try to make  during holidays, and for hot weekends  for them to enjoy. You can use fresh or frozen strawberries.
